Our Teachers

Maryanne Armstrong

As a preschool teacher for almost 30 years, Maryanne loves teaching now as much as when she first began her career. After completing her teaching certificate at Queen’s University and her Primary Specialist Certificate at Toronto Teachers College, Maryanne began her career teaching preschool for 15 years in Lakeview before moving to Calgary with her husband. Now, with three grown daughters and four grandchildren, Maryanne feels blessed to have been a part of the teaching team at Learning Adventures for over 12 years. Not only does she love working with little children, but enjoys watching them grow and develop at this young age. When she is not at the school, Maryanne enjoys travelling, spending time with friends, walking, aqua-fit, reading and doing Sudoku.

Andrea Gillespie

Although it is her fourth year with the preschool program, this is Andrea's first year as a full-time aide, and she finds teaching preschool children exciting. Not only does Andrea love working with the kids, but she enjoys watching them grow and develop new friends, skills, and confidence. When she is not in school, Andrea enjoys camping, hiking and spending time outside with her family and friends.

Susan Reimer

As a learning Assistant for over seven years, Susan is excited to teach the three-year-old class. She feels honoured to work with young children because they have so much to teach us about living in the moment and how to be Christ-like in everything we do. Little people know how to live, love, and laugh which Susan truly embraces every day. When she is not working with children in the classroom, Susan enjoys running and spending time with her family and friends.

Susan Ohman

Holding her Bachelor of Education, Susan has taught in all levels of education and realizes how important early education is. At Learning Adventures Preschool for over ten years, Susan still enjoys the incredible blessing that comes with this age group. She loves working with children and providing meaningful, dynamic educational programming to stimulate their young minds. A native Calgarian, Susan and her husband have two grown children of their own. When she isn’t working, Susan enjoys golfing, walking the family dog, and spending time with friends and family.
