Early Learning Centre

We are very excited to offer a full-day program for Kindergaten students! This is a program that provides fun, structured care for children on the days they’re not in kindergarten. With a Christian perspective focused on God’s love woven into all activities and lessons, this dynamic class will be alive with music, crafts, stories, and games. To enhance the program, children will go on mini field trips (next door) to the Calgary Christian Elementary School to sing and play instruments in the music room, explore the wonderful world of books in the library and paint, build and create in the art room.

During the program, we will support each child’s journey of development while preparing them for Kindergarten through:

• Rhythm & Dance Time

• Science (exploring/sensing/discovering)

• Handwriting Without Tears (stories/strengthening fine motor skills)

• Letter Sound Exploration

• Library Time

• Ball Skills (throwing, catching, kicking a ball)

• Our “Awareness Through Movement” Program (helps develop coordination, balance and strength)

• Math Fun (logic/sequence/patterns),

• Adventure & Nature Walks

• Music Time (instruments and singing)

Schedule

Days of the Week: Mon/Wed OR Tue/Thurs AND every other Friday

Time: 8:00am – 4:00pm Monday through Thursday, 8:00am - 1:00pm Friday

Follows the Calgary Christian School Calendar including PD days, Christmas and Spring Breaks

Eligibility

Children must turn five on or before December 31 of the current school year.

Class Size

The maximum number of students in our four-year-old full day program is 14. The class will be led by a teacher and co-teacher, to ensure a 1:7 ratio. Best ratio in the city! Parent volunteers are welcome as long as they have a current police check.
